On Friday, 17th May and Tuesday, 21st May, respectively, Mr Malone’s 6th class boys and Ms Forde’s 6th class girls, visited the Hugh Lane Gallery in town to take part in a city wide scheme called Zoom@the HughLaneGallery. The aim of the scheme is to encourage the creative potential of children through looking at artwork in the Gallery’s collection and the making of art during an artist-led workshop arising from what the children will have seen and discussed. Initially the project is being aimed at twenty-six primary schools in the Dublin city area. A representative from the gallery will visit the school and give a presentation to the class ahead of this visit.
Mr Malone brought his 6th class boys to Trinity College to see the Long Library, the Book of Kells and they also got the opportunity to speak to students attending college there and see what the dorms looked like. We might see some of our students in college there in the future as they all really seemed to enjoy the visit.
Testing for all pupils takes place during the month of May. Please ensure that children are well rested for the testing which will be ongoing in the junior school from the 8th May and begins in the senior school from Tuesday 14th May onwards. As we have been selected by the Department of Education & Skills to take part in further field research to improve standards in testing, our 2nd and 6th class pupils will be undertaking a second set of tests this year, good luck to all!!
News from The Gardening Team
The New Gardening Team was formed in April 2019, to help Claire in the garden. As part of the project, compost bins have been put into 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Classes. Raw fruit and vegetables only will be put into the bins, and each day the Gardening Team will empty the classroom bins into the compost bin in the garden. A layer of paper will also be added, and we should see the compost forming over the coming weeks and months.

Confirmation March 14th 2019
On Thursday, March 14th, we received the sacrament of Confirmation in St. Agnes Church. It was a lovely ceremony with the school choir singing lovely hymns throughout the ceremony. Archbishop Diarmaid Martin confirmed us, and he was high in praise of all the pupils in the church.
